Truscotts Rd Level Crossing.

The weekend of Aug 11/12 was booked for the upgrade of Truscotts Rd level crossing. Even with a lot of preparation work prior to the weekend, it didn't go entirely to plan! Falling quite short of having the crossing fully completed.

Early start on the Saturday saw the track through the crossing removed by 10am. Micheal Whyman undoing the last of the track bolts for short section to be removed. 11/8/07.

By lunch time on the Saturday the removal of the old ballast was well under way. 11/8/07.

End of Saturday had the level crossing dug out and the spoil carted away. The man holes and associated cable ducts installed and a start made on the drainage. 11/8/07.

Monday afternoon was spent lifting and shovel packing to improve the level of the new curve. Ahead, lots of lifting and tamping of the new track, and cutting, notching and drilling of the timber decking.13/8/07.
